Hot flushes during chemo

I've just had my 5th week of paclitaxel, and I keep going really hot, especially at night. Has anyone else had any experience like this? I'm a few days late for my period now, and keep scaring myself that the chemo has triggered early-onset menopause! I know this is extremely rare, but still... Just hoping it's a side-effect of the chemo??

Also, does anyone know what can happen with periods and chemo? Will they dry up completely or just become a bit irregular? I suppose it can be different for everyone, but just curious what could happen!

  • I'm sorry about the hot flushes you're having Stiltonite. It must be very tough, especially if they're happening at night.

We have some information and tips on how to manage hot flushes on our website but if you'd like to have a quick chat with one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this becomes more manageable for you soon Stiltonite.

    Kind regards,
