Negative Colonoscopy & CT Scan after positive ColoAlert

Hello and i hope whoever is reading this is well and any advice or response will be accepted gratefully with thanks.

So i recently took a ColoAlert DNA Stool test that came back as Kras Positive but no blood in stool. I then had a private Colonoscopy & Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis CT Scan all came back clear.

My Colonoscopist is great and i will see him in a month as they just want to make sure im not losing any more weigt which im confident i won't but happy they are taking things more seriously than my GP, which is a whole other story.

My question to the group is this. "If dna in my stool is Kras positive but Colonoscopy clear, how often should i have repeat Colonoscopy?" Obviously i will ask my Colonoscopist this but wondered if anyone here has had a similar story?

Many Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Marc and welcome to Cancer Chat.

Unfortunately our members can't really answer this question but our lovely and friendly team of cancer nurses may be able to help so if you'd like to get their thoughts on this then do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope speaking with them about this will help until you're able to have a chat with your colonoscopist about this in more detail next month.

    Kind regards,
