Breast cancer

I have had my cancer removed from my breast and all my lynth glands removed I was just wondering how long it will take for the fluid to settle down I have had it drained 4 times already I  still waiting for my results to say they have got all the cancer then I can start having radiotherapy it is getting me down at the min and my anxiety is high too

    I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with seroma after your surgery. It's unfortunate that it's come back after being drained a few times now. Do keep in touch with your breast care nurse so that they know how things are progressing. 

    I know that this will be a difficult time and it's understandable that you're feeling anxious. It's really positive that your lymph nodes were clear following your surgery and hopefully you will have an update on your radiotherapy soon. 

    It can sometimes help to talk to someone when things start to get on top of you and if you'd like to chat to one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support that they can.

    It is just getting me down at the minute having to have it drained all of the time and when it starts to fill up again it just feels really uncomfortable and trying to sleep is hard when it gets big I just hope it settles down soon and I can get a he radiotherapy soon
