Testicle cancer diagnosis my story so far

Hi everyone , back in march the 11th i was called in to hospital to the urology department for suspected testicular cancer.i had been going to doctors on and off and just had a testicular ultrasound

My Doctor was concerned with the ultrasond and feeling of the testicle so she kept me in the hospital and admitted me to have an emergency radical orchidectomy (removal of right testicle).

I then recovered at home for a few weeks, on april 13th i had an app to get a ct scan of the chest abdomen ,pelvis , and my bloods done,

April 15th i had a follow app with my urology doctor and luckily the cancer was conatined in the testicle and it was early so it didnt spread,

I then had an app with the oncology team and they basicaly said i didnt need chemo and i just need to do check ups  every so often (meaning ct scan blood tests )

My first appointment was meant to be the 11th of june for a ct but they cancelled it and rescheduled for september 11th i am kind of worried the last few days that it was postponed to a later date, also worried about it coming back in the other testicle ive had an odd dull pain in the left one but i think i have a hydrocele or something as it feels very veiny no cancer symptoms, if anyboy whos in a similar position i would like to hear from you and also anybody who got tc in the other testicle was it quick to come back or did it take longer than that, i just want my first check up to know im clear as i feel like im on hold at the minute, i will answer any questions anyboy else has also sorry for the long post thank you for your time.

  • Hi mickomag,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can imagine how you must feel and I know the uncertainty is not easy. It's a shame that your appointment was postponed - I'm sure this must be causing some difficulties. If you feel concerned about anything you may have noticed, you can always give your doctor a call to get some advice.

Our nurses are also available if you'd like to talk things through at all. You can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

In the meantime, hopefully you'll receive further replies here and I hope you find the forum useful.

    Wishing you all the best,
