Hello lovely people.
I was desperate to start Pembro immunotherapy, since lobectomy surgery did not keep nsclc lung cancer at bay. It was already in mediastinal nodes. It's recurred extensively in lymph system and bones after only 4 months. I had my first treatment 4 days ago.
3 weeks ago I was already getting out of breath after light exertion. 7 days of steroids helped but I had to stop for the Pembro. Now I can't walk from bedroom to bathroom or go upstairs without gasping for breath. It takes a good 5 or 10 mins to recover.
The most likely reason would be progression I suppose, and I have to be realistic. I understand that breathlessness can be a side effect of the Pembro treatment and wonder if that's true and anyone here experienced that? I've also had one lot of Zometa.
I haven't had any other post-surgery treatment until now. I have never smoked.
I'm also suffering ghastly gastritis pain at night. I try to sit upright but it makes my back ache between my shoulder blades (mets in spine, scapula and ribs). Taking Omeprazole in mornings and Gaviscon when in pain.
Sorry for the long depressing post. I feel very low. I know it's early days, but unless things improve soon I'm not sure how long I can keep going.
