Hi Michelle
I hope you are recovering well from surgery. I had my lymph nodes removed under my arm (as well as a mastectomy) a year ago. After it all settled down I've been left with a small area of numbness where nerves where cut during surgery and I think this is quite normal. It's taken a little time but I'm quite used to how my scar looks and feels now. I'm think of it as my battle scar making me a stronger person.
Well done for doing your exercises. I've found they've been really important keeping me fully mobile so I can carry on with a normal active life.
I also needed a bit of physio to help with 'cording' under my arm and for a little lymphodema (swelling) but I can still do everything I did before and twice as much as women half my age . Keep up the good work and I hope you're back full form soon.

I am having a bit of a low day has I can not do nothing with only using one arm but I have to think I am on the road to recovery and just to get through radiotherapy
Hi There.
I had a large area of my boob removed plus some lymph nodes 3 weeks ago. My movement has been ok. But I had to have some fluid drained from the boob just over a week ago. The hole they created when they drained it hasn't stopped leaking since. I'm going through so many dressings and it's really awkward to change. New dressing keeps getting soggy before I can apply it properly. It's all normal and healing fine. But just wanted to say that I get your 'down days'. I'm so thankful that they removed all the cancer. But it's totally normal to feel down. We've been through a tough few weeks. Our bodies have been pulled about and changed. I'm waiting to hear whether chemo is recommended. Will definitely be having 2 weeks of radiation and will be taking hormone tablets. It's a journey for sure. One that we're smashing though! When you feel low, be proud of how far you've come already.

Oh, really sorry to hear you are having a low day Michelle. It's very tough when you're just out of surgery and you are still healing. I hope you are able to rest up and take it easy. I'm sure you'll be feeling much better when you've had a chance to heal properly.
Try to keep doing the exercises as much as you can, it will get easier and they will make a difference.
I had to have radiotherapy too. It wasn't too bad, it's the waiting and counting through them that's the worst - and then suddenly it will be over. Keep strong, just take it one day at a time and you will get through it.
Well done getting through surgery, just hold that thought you are getting all the right treatment and you are on the road to recovery.
Sending healing love and sisterly soldarity - I would try to tell you a rude joke too to cheer you up but sadly not allowed to do that on a public forum.
