Fit for chemo

*waves*

Hello, I had breast cancer stage 3 diagnosed in 2018. Chemo, mastecomy and radiation though 2019.

6 weeks ago I found out that I have breast mets in my Left lung which was causing lots of fluid to collect there(Malignant Pulmonary Effusion).

I've had the fluid tapped for diagnosis, had a chest drain and 2L taken out, tried an indwelling catheter so it could be drained a couple of times a week but this got infected. So most recently ended up having a Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery done. All to try to stop the fluid from collecting. Well the last one worked.

Shame it's too late as I came home from Surgery and a week later I'm back in my local hospital with shortness of breath on exertion.

The teams are pretty sure it's all down to advancement of the lung mets. Oncologist A really messed us about so I meet a new oncologist tomorrow.

Palliative nurses and some people have warned me that I may never be fit enough to have chemo. Does anyone have any experience of this? Has anyone initially been refused chemo but then later been approved?
