Has anyone had surgery on their oesphagus? I've been offered and would like to hear from someone who has actually been through it.

It depends on what sort of operation you are being offered.
Check out the Rayb thread - it's a bit of a party over there with the majority having had an operation over the past year, so feel free to ask away. I had an oesophagectomy 3 months ago.
