Stage 4 Melanoma

Hi, I have just had my original cancer diagnosis changed due to cancer cells which mimic others.  

I have Stage 4 Melanoma and will be starting immunotherapy next week.  

I cannot sit and do nothing as my life expectancy will be 6 to 12 months without treatment but I have to be honest I am really concerned about the potential side effects of the treatment I will receive.

However, I wil give it a go.

    Hi Ursie,

    I've read your other post and I'm sorry to hear about this change in Staging and type of cancer. Sadly, melanoma is a very unpredicatable cancer and throw curve balls like this, especially if you have had no obvious skin lesion to account for it. 

    I'm a Stage 3 melanoma patient so I don't have personal experience of immunotherapy and it's side effects. However, I do have a few Stage 4 melanoma patient friends who are on immunotherapy so, if you don't mind, I will send you a friend request so that I can send you a private message with more information. If I'm correct in guessing the hospital you are now under, you are in very, very good hands and will get excellent care.

    Good luck with the treatment - a recent report shows it's having very good results.

    Hi Angie, thank you for your lovely message. Yes I believe that I am in the best of hands and will just go with the flow. I note that the potential for good results is there and that is what I hope will happen.

    I will keep the forum updated as my first trreatment is scheduled for a week today.
