Hi,
So sorry that you are going through this but if its any consolation, I've been on Kadcyla since November 20 and will be having my 25th dose next Thursday. I haven't experienced any hair loss/issues whilst on it but I have had horrible neuropathy in my feet, which I've managed to sort out by taking Pregabalin tablets. The down side is that I've put on weight but that could be because I'm a woman of a certain age and menopausal! I have every thing crossed for you - it really is a wonder drug and has been a life saver (literally) for me. Best wishes
Thank you for your kind reply you have put me a little at ease about the hair loss situation, apart from your feet did you have any other side effects after each treatment? X
My fingernails are very weak and I feel quite tired immediately after treatment but otherwise it's all good. Best wishes for it all and let me how it goes. Do ask if you have any more questions x
Thank you so much you really have out my.mind at ease I will do I think I'm having 20 rounds of radiotherapy first x
Hi I have had first cycle of Kadcyla last week, feeling tired and nauseous... was weight gain secondary to pregabalin or Kadcyla? I am hoping side effects will settle soon and would be able to tolerate it better ... I had primary chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy already but unfortunately cancer didn't respond to initial chemotherapy...
Hi there.
My weight gain was after Kadcyla. I have got it under control now but took a lot of will power as I changed my diet and controlled everything I ate. Now its much better and I'm eating pretty much as before. I do think there was an element of 'Lock down' weight gain so can't blame it all on the drugs. Kadcyla is a miracle for me so do stick with it if you can. Hopefully the symptoms will ease over time.
Incidentally, the pregabalin was prescribed because I get dreadful neurophathy pain in my feet which is another side effect of Kadcyla. Just something to be aware of. Remeber also that I am on Kadcyla for as long as it keeps working so I'm having cycle 30 on Thursday.
Hope some of that helps and good luck with it all
Hi.
I've also had chemotherapy, followed by surgery and radiotherapy and been told I now have to have 13 rounds of Kadcyla. I've had one and it really knocked me off my feet. I was very tired and had nausea for the first couple of days then the nausea for worse and I had very severe headache for about 7 to 10 days. I'm feeling fine now but dreading my next one this Wednesday.
Has any one suffer like this? Does it get better?
Also does anybody actually feel okay to go back to work? I feel that I've been off so long now.
Hi I took am about to start this treatment on Friday, feeling a bit worried about the side effects. I've had my initial chemo and then surgery and I'm still waiting for dates for radiotherapy. Just hoping to get back to work in some form soon
