Has anyone else had Scarred Lungs during treatment?

Hi

I'm still undergoing  chemo but have been told my right lung has scarring from the lymphoma in my lung, which has now gone, but the chemo AVBD also puts me at risk of lung problems. Has anyone else experienced scarring of the lungs due to treatment ?

I am now worried about something else, my future and health in other ways.

im generally so positive and haven't crumbled once but I am pretty sure I have anxiety about health now. I hope I'm not alone.

Any reassurance would be fab! Thank you.

  • Hi

I have been treated for metastic cancer on my lungs and liver. I have had six lots of microwave ablations on my lungs to remove cancerous nodules over the past two years and I am now due to start chemo next week. The ablations caused scaring but I am glad to say that there was no noticeable deterioration in my breathing after the ops or during the healing.

I hope that you don't get any noticeable side affects from your chemo. Good luck.

  • Thank you.

I was unsure if scarring meant my lungs would automatically decline in function and this worries me.

I'm 27 and a non smoker with generally good health otherwise so I was hoping this would help me.

Thats hopeful that you're saying the side effects haven't prevented you from normal functioning. Thanks for your time on replying - I wish you the bets of luck too!
