Hi love, it's very scary being told your loved one has cancer but you've not said what type or how old she is so it's difficult to help you.  But many grandparents on this forum have cancer, my husband has it but he is 75 years old and has managed another four years since being told.  So come back on if you find out more or we are just here to help you cope.  Carol x
