I'm worried my cancer is back already

Hi :))

a bit of a lengthy one oops

My last post was when I had my last chemo session after 6 months of having treatment, and it's been almost 6 weeks since then. I have my first check up scan on the 29th of this month and I'm TERRIFIED. I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma (stage2) for background

In that last post I did I mentioned I felt some lumps around my neck that were small and hard, I did ask my nurse what they couldve been since I had them for two weeks before my last session, and she told me that they're highly nothing to worry about (such as fat lumps or fluid build up).

Those lumps are still there, however, after over a month and a half now. They haven't gotten bigger, but the more I worry I feel about for more and there's more !! I'm not sure if it's just what my body feels like (i rarely actually feel for things under my skin for anything but I have been doing it ALOT aaaa) and I have a few around my ribs at the bottom and a weird section at the 'upside down v' part in the middle bottom of my rib cage idk how else to explain it haha, but i've had those since December !! no getting bigger or anything just, there!

I would like to point out I haven't had any symptoms like I had the last time around, i've been making sure I keep a feel out for anything and weighing myself every week to make sure I'm not losing any like before my diagnosis.

Is it too late to ask for another check over exam? or could I ask for one just before my scan? I'm feeling so lost on what to do. I don't want it to be back but at the same time I'm not sure if it's just my anxiety playing with my head or not aaaaaaa

  • I am sure your cancer is not back, after all your therapy.  A friend of mine had stage 4 Hogkins Lymph and all the chemo and radiation, and survived.   I do think if you are concerned you need to tell your GP or specialist support so they can explain and support, although I think they are right about the fat lumps, i will ask my friend who had the stage 4.   I have a different endometroid stage 3, and I know how everything pain, lump and blemish concerns you.  I have taken photos of every thing so I can monitor if it grows or changes, and I record everything as well in a diary, so do this.  But do talk to a professional they will be able to give you the right guidance, and calm your fears.

  • thank you !! I do definitely think it's just me being a little too paranoid because of course the treatment wouldve worked, it's just worrying when I'm finding lumps again. They're all completely under the skin so I have to push down on to where they are to feel them so they're more than likely just fat. I've been keeping note on where they are and they haven't gotten any bigger since finding them thankfully !!

I wish you all the best in your journey < 3 thank you again :))
