Fear of recurrence

I have a question related to ovarian cancer recurrence. I had a totally hysterectomy and 6 rounds of chemotherapy. I now take a PARP inhibitor daily and am monitored monthly. My fear is that the CA 125 blood test may not detect cancer elsewhere in my body. How will I know if it has recurred in my lungs, bowel or even brain?

    Hello Lurchermum, 

    I think it would be worth getting in touch with your GP or specialist and asking them whether there will be other tests available to you other than the CA125 to monitor recurrence. They will be in the best position to tell you more. This is something you could also perhaps bring up at your next monthly check up?
