Just help

I met a lovely man a few months ago after being single for 7 years, he told me on our second date that he had had renal cell cancer 9 years ago and after surgery was cancer free.  After a couple of months he told me he still is on daily medication (sunitinib) and that he actually had tumours in his lungs and liver.   I was shocked but he seems so well and is so lovely I decided to stay with him.  He has seemed unwell the last few weeks, we don't live together but I have noticed he seems tired and breathless.  He received his scan results this morning and it's not good news, he has growth in his lungs.  They are changing his meds to cabozantinib.  I just need to hear from people that have similar experiences to just help process this. He's lovely and so positive I can't let him know how scared I feel. X

I'm sorry that the tumours in your partner's lungs has grown. It must have been very tough to hear this but fingers crossed the change of medication will help keep the tumours in check.

I'm sure some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their support and advice to you soon but whilst you wait I hope this information we have on our website will help.
