I have had trastuzmab but not the other. I had it every 3 weeks for a yr & just finished in December. I found it straightforward after not being well with chemo.
Hi Lisa yes I get that too but that is after my chemo... surgery and radiotherapy... I actually get 3. It's docetaxel... Pertuzumab and Trastuzumab I get after the 3 ECs. I'm glad to hear it's not too bad though ... but of a relief after all that I think xx
ive had mastectomy & reconstruction. I was planned for 6 chemos - 3 FECT then 3 docetaxel but I wasn't well with my 1st 3 chemos so had to have weekly paclitaxel (x12) instead of the docetaxel. I then had radio & my Herceptin for a yr - it was pretty easy after the chemo. I finished it in dec. I've had a lot of trouble with joint pain but I think it's def improving since the Herceptin finished. I'm waiting on my next surgery now.
Ah ha, got it. I had FEC-T. I was unwell after my 1st cycle so they dropped the F & so I had EC, same as u! My T (docetaxel) was changed to weekly paclitaxel - so we pretty much have the same treatment. I hope u find the Herceptin much more straightforward, I did. Best of luck x
Hi, I've just had 8 cycles of docetaxel along with the other 2. I've done well on this regime but did get knocked about a bit with the docetaxel. I now continue on the other 2 every 3 weeks until end of life as I'm stage 4. I've been told it will be much easier on me so I'm happy about that.
All in all this regime has given me an unexpected longer shot at life so I'd recommend it.
Hi Lottie, I'm on EC and will be on these in April too. I have just started my treatment on 26th Feb.
I'm m not 100% sure of my whole treatment plan as I didn't want to know too much and I think I've put it out of my mind as obviously they did tell me somewhere back in a dark time!! I know I'm having 7 rounds then surgery then 18 rounds of herceptin. (I think!)
[@TianT] .... I started on 26th Feb too... next chemo is 19th March ... I'm sorry to hear you were in a dark place ... it's a very scary situation we are in. My anxiety has been quite bad the last 2 days too... I'm on 10mg of citalopram anyway but may need to increase this dose I think. Are you on anything? Xx
My next is the the 19th too so we must be on the same timeline! It is a scary time but I just couldn't wait to start the treatment and felt so much better when I did.
I used to take sertraline but weaned myself off them last summer. I use a bit of cannabis oil now which helps a lot.
Both my daughter's had twins last year so they all keep me smiling and happy!!
[@Barbm] oh Barb I'm so sorry to hear you are stage 4. I'm stage 3 ..., but isn't it wonderful that they have these treatments now to help us survive... there are so many ladies stage 4 and thriving and I think it's wonderful. Sending much love to you. Thank you for replying xx
