Due to have full thyroidectomy & lymph node dissection, help

I am going into surgery in a week today for a full thyroidectomy and lymph node disection.

I have felt pretty fine up until now, but now I am getting worried about side affects, the stay in hospital and recovery time.

If anyone has been through this, or been in hospital lately and knows what I should pack to take or has any advice, I would really aprieciate it!

My family is very supportive, but I dont know anyone who is going through or has gone through cancer before.

    I noticed you haven't had a reply just yet so I just wanted to quickly welcome you to Cancer Chat and share some information we have about this procedure. I hope this will prove to be useful but hopefully some of our members who have had this done will share their experiences and offer their tips and advice to you soon.
