It's all going well. Breast Cancer.

After 2 operations in less than a month. First op was a Lumpectomy and sensory node biopsy the second was to widen the margin where the lump was and remove more lymph nodes.

Today I went for the results and found out that I am cancer free. I will be starting chemo within the next few weeks to make sure that there isn't any nasties left.

All this is after a mammogram in November. The treatment I have and will be having is showing the NHS at its best.

I'll be honest I was disappointed when they mentioned chemo but as my DH said I need to concentrate on the positives.

Just have to get my head around chemo, I'm reading up on any tips to help me through this part of my recovery.

It's great to hear that your recovery following your surgery is going so well.

I can understand how disappointed you're feeling having been recommended that chemo is now the next step in your treatment process. As your DH has said try to concentrate on the positives and see this as a safety net hopefully mopping up any nasties that may be lurking.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our team of nurses ahead of your treatment starting you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they'll be able to offer you some advice and support. If you'd like to talk to them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
