  • Hi Jo

I'm currently on docetaxel. Next week will be 7 out of 8. It's a tough drug but in all honesty it effects everyone differently. I've found that with each cycle my symptoms have worsened but I've managed to cope so far.

The biggest worry with it is the nerve damage it can cause to fingers and toes. I've been ok until this last cycle when I experienced a slight numbness in my fingertips, as if they were really cold. It passed after a few days. It does irritate my digestive tract but that's managed with medication. Chemo mouth is another symptom most people suffer from.

Having said all that it's working for me. I'm stage 4 and it had metastasised from the breast and lymph nodes to both lungs and 3 parts of my liver. The 11cm x 9cm tumour went after the first session. So whatever I suffer it's worth it.

Good luck and I hope you smash it.
