  • Hello Thedolph

I'm sure that we will have some community members living with secondary cancer who have had the Covid19 vaccine and hopefully they will see your post and share their experiences with you.

We do have some information on our website here about the covid19 vaccine and cancer which may be of help.

Do speak to your Consultant or specialist nurse if you're feeling anxious about things.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you I shall have a read now. I've been no all the way, until I received my appointment for next week.

  • Hi Thedolph

I've got stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer and had my vaccination last Saturday. I felt a little fluey over the weekend and my arm is still slightly red and sore.

Having said that I got covid after my first chemo session and I thought I was a gonner. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I've been left with significant damage to my lungs so getting it again or another variant would probably finish me off. I've got too much living to do so having the vaccination was a definite for me.

The choice is yours to make.

    Good luck

    Barb

  • Hi thank you for your reply means alot. I'm still stressing about what I should do,I'm not sleeping my appointment is tomorrow (Thursday 11th).

I have appointment at the unit today so I shall speak with the nurses later and discuss my feelings. Honest I feel me worried and stressed about this jab more than what I ever thought & worried about covid since it first hit the UK. I know alot of people will think I'm being selfish if I don't have the jab but I also know its my decision. Thanks again for the reply. I shall let you know what I decide. Xx
