Ive just completed 4wks of radiotherapy and 8 sessions of chemotherapy. I was told on 27th that my cancer is clear. When i enquired as to what scan pic they had used as i hadnt had a scan since 7th jan. Which was 12 days into my treatment. But they still carried on with chemo and radio. Albeit to no tumour according to the immunotherapist who came to tell me i was cancer free andI only after 10 minutes before i asked so... whats the score, to which she replied non- chalantly ' oh yeah clear' i said what?? In surprise and confusion! Where was my oncologist? No where the only reason this nurse was in to see me was to try.push her immunotherapy onto me as she needs to move fast. She even had the full leaflets. ( strange) i wasnt shown any scans to say there you go cancer free after 12 days. I imagined the onco would have wanted to be the first to tell me ir congrats? Or gloat? But no he sent her in cos i had mentioned an interest in i/therapy at first meeting.
Im very confused as to why they carried on if tumour was gone within 12days of treatment instead of going on with more radio to my chest n lung. And chemotherapy my treatment was from the 21st dec - 19th jan 21 i dont know what stage i was at . Or got a prognosis from my lovely doctor (not) im angry and confused. Now i dont know wether to take the immunotherapy.
Can anyone whos had imfinzi or durvalumab can help please im scared and worried to go through with it. As i have a degree of mistrust of most doctors now. As its all big pharma and money now. Oh yeah astrazenica are the pharma co. Who own imfinzi. Can any one help please? Should i go fo immunotherapy?
