I had thyroid nodules. They did FNA and found a small amount of cancer in one nodule. The endocrinologist said remove whole gland; the surgeon said you can remove whole or half or do active surveillance. The oncologist said you can do any of these things but some people do active surveillance and if the cancer reaches a certain point, they then have surgery. 
so, I would like to hear if anyone has had or is having this experience. 
first time I was using this site - had been in denial previously and too scared and nervous to face up and read. Now realise it's good to be informed in as sensible and sensitive way as possible.
