Breast cancer

Hi, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020,started chemo but unfortunately it didn't work and the cancer had grown, it was 10cm in my right breast and in 2 lymth nodes. I had a mastectomy last week and axillary removal. Today I went for the results and was told cancer was found in 5 nodes out of 14 and they have booked me in for a scan. Has anybody else been in this position and been OK? I'm 39,my cancer was stage 3 aggressive duductal carcinoma her 2 positive. Thanks in advance. Xx

  • Hello Linzip123

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that your recent surgery showed there was some spread to your lymph nodes. I hope that you're recovery from the surgery is going smoothly but I know that this will be a difficult time for you whilst you wait for more tests and to start active treatment again.

I can see that you've chatted with a member on another thread and I hope that you're able to connect with other ladies here on the forum who are going through treatment for breast cancer.

It might help if you have a chat with one of our team of nurses as well. I know that they will be able to offer you some information and support. If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on with your scan.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Linzip123

I was diagnosed with er+ breast cancer about 3 weeks ago and my lump is 10cm. I'm now awaiting a scan for my bones and ct for my organs to see for spread before  starting chemotherapy. Which I'm dreading. How are you keeping and how were the scans?

    Thanks
