Hi All,
So I had a lumpectomy for DCIS just before Christmas and recovering well. Have seen my Consultant last week who is pleased with how procedure went and confident that all of nasty area was removed. I don't need any medication going forward. He did mention Radiotherapy, however today the Radiotherapy doctor rang me and said due to the success of the operation and the area being small she advised that I don't need it. I am now worried about this as I was genuinely expecting to have it done. I will be having annual mammograms for 5 years but is this sufficient?
Anyone else had this happen to them as I thought it was standard procedure after DCIS?
Ali
