CNS Lymphoma

I was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma earlier in the year and I already have Myasthenia Gravis which is putting me in a very rare group and harder to treat. Scans early in my treatment also showed 3 spinal fractures explaining the pain I have been suffering  with for years. All of this combined with Covid has made 2020 a bad year.  I spent 2 months in the hospital and seen some very sick people all being cared for by exceptional Doctors, Nurses and Auxiliary staff. What has made me wonder is why a perfectly healthy 80+ year old is deemed more vulnerable than some of these people i seen and receives the vaccine earlier.  These cancer patients are seriously ill and need all the help they can get but are overlooked.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Jarrowlad, although I'm sorry for the reason that brings you here.

2020 has certainly been a year that many of us won't want to remember and I can appreciate why you feel the way you do about how cancer is being addressed in times of COVID. I'm sure many people here would share your opinion on the matter, and I hope they will come along shortly to talk with you.

In the meantime, stay strong and please remember we're always here if you feel like a chat.

    With best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
