Chemo and kids at high school

Hi I'm claire I have started EC treatment yesterday for breast cancer.
Ive been very lucky in that I haven't felt sick just tired at the moment and have still had my appetite.

I did have a wobble on the first night and had to be seen to make sure I had no infection.

I had to go in to a and e last night with a temperature and it worries me the kids in and out of school at this time. We are being extra cautious and clean I just want to be sure .

Are there any rules on kids in school the first few days after Chemo?

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Claire.

I'm glad things have been going well with your chemo although I can understand your worries due to what happened.

I think your medical team, so possibly a breast cancer nurse if you were assigned one, would be the best person to discuss this with but you're welcome to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses as well. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope you're able to get the answers and reassurance you're seeking soon and the rest of your treatment continues to go smoothly.

    Kind regards,
