Im so upset - mammy has metastisis anaplastic thyroid cancer

My amazing mammy has been dagnoised on Monday with metastisis anaplastic thyroid cancer...they have given her to Christmas however are starting her on radiothreapy on Monday 5 sessions to mass in neck and 1 blast into her spine...after this a sample may be given to pathology for possible chemo drug....is there hope my mammys beautiful life can be prolonged? its as if im on a countdown to Christmas just waiting for my mammy to pass and greiving already..its the worst feeling ever...ive never lost anyone close to me...im 31 married but no children yet...my mammy is only 61 yrs young...she is active, driving her car, has put on 1st 3lb in 3 weeks up to 7st 3lb now...feeling well only slight twinge in back...i know we can not predict our future or death...but is there any hope in this at all?

    My mammy had it in liver thyroid plevis spine and lungs when it was found...its so rare indeed...oncologist said to my mammy if you had to pick a cancer this is the worst one to pick...flip sake! what is oncologist saying?

    I hope you don't mind me stopping by but I noticed you were hoping to hear back from MammysGirl.

    Unfortunately this discussion hasn't been active in over 5 years and MammysGirl hasn't been on the forum in a while so there's a chance you may not hear back from them. I really hope that won't be the case but if you don't receive a reply, you're very welcome to start your own discussion about this instead.
