I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for you but I want you to know you're not alone as many of our members here have been in similar situations so will understand what you're going through at the moment and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

In the meantime I just want to wish your mammy all the best with the start of her radiotherapy. We'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

i am in same situation with my dad and was wondering if any treatment and how things have gone? 

any info really is received with eternal gratefulness 

Hiya, sorry to jump on. Unfortunately this type of cancer is extremely aggressive, and most people don't survive past four months from diagnosis. My mother in law was diagnosed valentines day 2019 with thyroid cancer, by the June she had had treatment and been given the all clear. By the middle of August, her tumor had regrow, and it was then she had this furthur diagnosis. She passed away on the 8th of December that same year. The only thing you can do is hope, and make the most of every moment. X

my mammy passed away 4th Dec 20, a short 4 weeks after prognosis :(

it doesn't even much faith.  Dad is 77 - what age was your poor mum?

i am still in shock and I still consider in this day and age even 77 to not be that old- I see this has being robbed of another 10 , maybe 15 years 

it's a rare cancer out blue and not linked to lifestyle - this is very traumatic 

My mammy was only 61 :( i feel robbed i turned 32 two days after buring my mammy...i thought/hoped for another 20 years atleast...my mammys mum is still living (my granny) she is 87 and obviously heartbroken like us all that she had to bury her only child :(

It is a very rare and rapid cancer...mammy had little to no smyptoms apart from slight pain in neck appox 3 weeks before diagnosis.

My mammy did do 5 bouts of pallative radiotherpy...thats all that was given..also offered chemo as fitness level etc was good but it was so rapid in the end :( 

I am so sorry - I am only 33 so basically same as you in terms of time with my dad

many advice you can give would be helpful - my dad is getting weaker and sleeping more 

this is not himself as he generally

Aww you are young too, has the cancer travelled anywhere else?

Lung I believe and as we speak probably travelling around body - this is awful - trying to see what can do but it seems nothing. 
 

Like your mum , dad been my best friend and going to miss him so much - should have another 10 years or more - this is so rare it's unbelievable huh
