Hi all,
Hi all,
HI Ncd,
I am so sorry to hear of your concerns re chemo. Nobody wants this treatment if they don't have to have it and, your care team wouldn't advise it if they didn't feel that this would give you the best chance of survival. It is not your consultant alone who decides on the optimum treatment for you, but your whole multidisciplinary team who disscuss this once they have your biopsy results.
Your lymph nodes are like the circulatory system. It travels all around your body and can spread the cancer. Because some cancer was found in your lymph nodes, your care team want to zap that before it spreads to other parts of your body and your cancer becomes secondary, giving you a poorer outcome.
Don't be pressurised into just accepting chemo. Talk to your breast care nurse or consultant and ask for an estimate of how well you will do with/without chemo, before you decide.
I hope that you reach the right decision for you. Please let us know what you decide. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
