  • Hello Ncd

We've quite a few posts here on the forum where members have talked about their experiences with cold caps. If you use the forum search function (magnifying glass in the blue bar at the top of the page) to search for coldcap you'll find lots of posts that you can read through.

We do also have some information on our website here which I've linked for you.

Hopefully some of our members will see your post and reply to share their experiences and tips with you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn & all,

Thank you for your help, yes I searched some, still looking for tips...

    much appreciated

  • Hi

Yes I tried the cold cap for my first session. It takes a while and goes down to -6. The first 30 minutes are uncomfortable for some but painful for others. My hair is coming out in clumps now so I'm not going through that again as it doesn't appear to work for me. There are 2 other ladies in my chemo session who persevered and kept their hair. It also lengthens your session by a couple of hours.

Perhaps try it and decide from there. You can change your mind mid session if you want to. There's no pressure put on anyone. If you decide to give it a go take an Alice band in with you to protect parts of your skin.

I hope this helps you. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Stay strong. Take care. Barb xx
