It's been a little over 2 weeks now since my fiancé who is 36 had surgery for stage 3 bowel cancer. He had open extended right hemicoloectomy with end to end anatomosis and he had about 70% of his large intestine removed.
we are still waiting to hear from the pathology and histology of what they removed but we do know there were swollen lymph nodes removed which the PET scan picked up but no metastasis. During surgery the surgeon did do biopsies of his stomach as the tumour was touching it but wasn't infiltrated.
Over the last 3 nights though he has had night sweats and weird ticklish feelings in his forearms when he's laying down. He is having Inhixia injections for the next 12 days to prevent DVT. It's really difficult to explain the forearm feelings he's getting but he does say it feels like a feather going up his arm going into his hands.
This only really started though on Sunday evening when he stopped taking tramadol due them causing constipation and not being able to take laxatives (as per surgeons request)
He had been taking tramadol since 31st July so not a really long time but strange he's getting these feelings and it is really worrying me that it's happening when he's lying down. I'm trying not to overthink everything but my mind is going to major 'what ifs' all the time!!
The night sweats last night weren't as bad. We have got an at home inner ear thermometer which goes to around 37.6 and he says he doesn't feel unwell.
Could the arm feelings be a different cancer, spread, or anything else. We have spoken to the CNS specialists and we do have a telephone appointment next Tuesday with the surgeon but I'm getting major 'scanixety' and general anxiety over this and it's making me so unhappy and fearful
