Armpit lump 2 years into remission from rare sarcoma

Hi all - so I have never posted on here for advice as I was fortunate enough to tackle the beast the first time just through surgery and had a swift recovery and life continued. I however have found a lump in my armpit. I have done all the right things, saw my GP straight away and then contacted my oncology team to get an appointment pointement booked but it doesn't lessen the anxiety.
Just feeling a little frustrated as I'm about to start my masters in a couple of weeks and thought I was on a positive trajectory however as your all know the big C makes its own mind up!
Looking for any kind of advice, words or wisdom or guidance from this amazing community!

  • Hello hmk7322 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear aout your current circumstances. Well done for being so vigilent and taking action as soon as you noticed the lump. It's natural to be feeling worried about what this may be but it sounds from your post as if you've lots of confidence in your oncology team so keep focussing on that when you're feeling anxious.

Have you been given a date for an appointment? Hopefully you won't have to wait too long.
I wonder in the meantime if you might find it helpful to speak to one of our nurses? Sometimes talking things through with someone outside of your friends and family can really make a difference. If you'd like to chat to them then they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. I'm sure they will be able to offer some support.

I hope you have some news soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
