Does neuropathy always include hands and feet?

I started Abraxane chemo almost 3 days ago and now I have tingling and shooting pains all over my body (upper leg, arm, ribs, ear, cheek, neck). It moves around and is worse when relaxing and when I change position in bed. I called the oncology team today and they said that normally this involves hands and feet and they'd never known a case without hands and feet involvement.. it did make me feel like they thought I was imagining it a bit.. has anyone else had this without hand/foot involvement? I just want them to prescribe me something for it and hate feeling like I need to build a case for why I need a certain medication...

  • Update.. just got a call back from the nurse - she consulated and apparently this is common with Abraxane but passes after a few days.. she said nothing can be prescribed to help me with this though.. my guess is because normally anti-depressants are used to treat nerve pain and they don't want to give me that for something that may only last for 3 days. Has anyone had any success treating nerve pain with anything else that you can buy over the counter?
