I just wanted to say hi and chat to others that are going through similar. My names Natalie and I am 44.

I was diagnosed with a grade 4 glistoma brain tumour in May. I  had 80% removed and then had 6 weeks radiotherapy and chemotherapy and now I have 4 weeks off before 6 months of chemotherapy.

It's scary *** really knowing that I have this cancer in my head and praying force miracle.

Trying to eat well, exercise and have fun but I am so tired. Any tips?

So much has happened to my life in the the last year and funny enough the decisions I had made I should have made 20 years ago because I am the happiest I've ever been, so I will be damned if this is me early!!!

I just need some tips on how to help myself and also its so hard not pushing people away because you feel s burden.

  • Hello Natalie.
Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis that has led you here. I hope that you've recovered from your surgery and the side effects from your radiotherapy and chemo are manageable.

I think that many of our members here will understand how scary it can be after a cancer diagnosis. It's good to hear that you're trying to prioritise looking after yourself and doing things that you enjoy. Keeping a positive outlook certainly helps to manage other thoughts and feelings.
I'm not sure if you've come across The Brain Tumour Charity but if not it's certainly worth having alook at their website. They have a support group specifically for people with brain tumours as well as lots of information and a support line you can call.

If you'd prefer to speak to one of our nurses then you're most welcome to give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you have some lovely things planned for this break in your treatment and that things go smoothly when you start chemo again.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
