herceptin and dental treatment following chemo, lumpectomy

I have just had a telephone consultation with a dr from my hospital and I had trouble with totally understanding what she was saying. Apparently I should have had a full dental checkup some months ago. I am not registered witha dentist (I only have 7 of my own teeth)

my question is, when I find a dentist who will see me, what do I ask them to check. Doctor said I should have xrays to check bone density. Any advise whould be appreciated

Hi jonjess,
Try to explain what you remember the doctor saying to you - i.e. that they mentioned you should have a full dental checkup and potentially x-rays, and see what the dentist recommends. Also explain your background. If you have concerns or questions, it might be best to speak to your doctor first to confirm things prior to speaking to the dentist.
