Paclitaxel - how long did your side effects last?

Can anyone who has had Paclitaxel chemo tell me how long their side effects lasted after the final treatment

  • Hi I had this plus carboplatin last year for ovarian cancer. I had mild peripheral neuropathy mostly feet which took about six months to go. I now have more joint pains especially in my hands which I believe are from the treatment but could just be age ( 60). Hair took about three months before I felt able to say I had hair and about six for first hair cut. I felt pretty much back to normal energy levels after about six weeks.

I do feel I had a reasonably easy time of it and it varies a great deal, I was very fit when I started.

my advice keep as active as you can but listen to your body and don't over do it. Try to get out and have a walk every day especially  don't feel like it, even if it's short it's so good for your mental health.

Its a year since finished and still have some disease so will almost certainly need it again sometime but meanwhile living each day and try to keep positive.

best wishes to you in your  is my first time on here and hope it's been helpful
