Hi.
I went to the hospital today to fing out the results of my MRI scan and apparently the lump in my left breast is bigger than they thought. Its 6cms not 3cms so they may need to do mascectomy.

Hello Slinkymoo
It's not uncommon for the sizing of breast tumours to change after further testing. The MRI will have given the team a more detailed picture of things which is why they have told you that the lump is larger than they initially thought.
Equally I also know we've had quite a number of ladies post here who have said that after surgery the pathology report showed that the tumour was smaller than the tests had initially shown but it's understandable that news like this can cause some anxiety.
You may find it helpf to chat things through with one of our nurses. I'm sure that they will be able to offer some support and advice. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
Do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Jenn
