Post treatment Pain after cervical cancer

I finished treatment for cervical cancer 11 wks ago, the usual 25 radio, 4 brachy, 5 chemo.

my first few months were ok, but now I've had quite severe pain where I imagine my ovaries are for the last 4 wks.
In the last wk or so ive found it very difficult to pee.

My gp said this can happen after pelvic radiotherapy and my oncologist hasn't bothered to call me back even after 4/5 phone calls from my oncology nurse. My nurse has asked me to go for bloods today and I'm freaking out something is terribly wrong.
I can just tell something isn't right and again, like last time no one is really listening to me. I've still had no fixed date for my 12 weeks scan so have absolutely no idea if any of my treatment worked.
Feel like I've been tossed aside since my treatment finished.
Did anyone else have back and pelvic pain, and trouble peeing after pelvic radiotherapy?

  • Hi nic219,

I'm sorry to read that you've been experiencing these difficulties. I see that by now you've had your appointment so hopefully you were able to get some insight.

If you feel you are waiting for information that you should have received then do follow this up by giving your doctor a call.

Meanwhile if anyone here has any similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you're able to find out more soon,

  • Hi Ben

    thanks for your reply.

Still no response from my messages left with my doctor and found out my scan has been moved to August now.

I had bloods and urine sample done at my go and they came back with no issues so I'm now more worried than before that this cancer related pain.

  • hi im having this pain now 2months after the same treatment as you did you find out what it was ?? xx

  • Hi Christine

unfortunatly my treatment didn't work, it turns out I have an extremely aggressive tumour and have been told mine has actually grown and spread.

this is very rare though, so please don't worry yet. But what I would say is definitely get back on the phone to your oncologist to get seen, just in case.

    Regards Nicola

  • Hi Nic

I’m so sorry to read your initial treatment was unsuccessful...my cervical cancer came back 9 months after treatment and became very aggressive, and spread, very quickly. I hope you can get a treatment plan which will help this time. xx
