Hi all,
I had my first cycle of chemo 19th June and next
one is on Friday. I had the cold cap. My hair has started coming out this morning. Anyone else experienced this? I know it's not 100% guaranteed not to come out.

Hello,
Which chemo are you on?
I'm on weekly low dose Paxlitaxel until Sept 7th and am nine treatments in.
I use the cold cap and am very relieved by the results. The parting in my hair is wider but I expected that. Hopefully my hair will carry on lasting out until the end of treatment. During week three into four I noticed a 'big shed' where I lost more hair during washing. This has thankfully slowed down. A little alarming when it happened, though
I know that some chemo is harsher than others (Red DevilAC /Docetsxel). I still think using the cold cap is worth a try. Make sure the cap fits your head and push it right down to your scalp. The nurses are usually very experienced at timings/fitting the cap etc but wearing it should add about half an hour at beginning of treatment and one hour at the end.
I've seen very good results from it with other women.
Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hi,
thank you for that information. I'll still persevere with the cold cap.
hopefully the shedding might subside.
