Skin cream after radiotherapy

Over 3 weeks now since finishing radiotherapy to my chest wall for breast cancer after a masectomy. I've had Polymem dressing on for 10 days as my skin was blistering and weeping. Yesterday the redness subsided and I'm left with dry, flaky skin. Would anyone recommend E45, I used it while I was having the radiotherapy, but wondered about afterwards. I like organic, natural products but don't want to risk any reaction. Any thoughts?

  • Hi I was given flamazine cream by the hospital with dressings to put on my weeping Burns I used it for 2 weeks and then it all healed I then was advised E45 to use which was really good non greasy and easily absorbed on the skin it's non perfumed and cooling I kept it in the fridge but now my skin is healed 6 months post radiation I use all sorts of different creams the skin is so fragile after radiation and needs a lot of TLC .

  • Gosh, it takes long time to heal. I had the Polymem dressings but not Flamazine. Today was the first day without dressings and I spoke to the nurse this morning. She also said E45 cream and just be gentle as skin is new and pink, but at least not bright red and weeping! Glad that's over! Thank you for replying,
