Routine check-up during covid

Hi all

I finished AAVD treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma in January. I was meant to have my first check-up PET and meeting with my haematologist 3 months later (March), however my haematologist was not worried so he suggested delaying it by 1-2 months (before Covid was a thing).

During Covid, I ended up having my scan in my home country but posted my scan images on a CD to my haematologist for review. He must have received them in early May, but the nuclear medicine docs haven't gotten back to him yet with a report.

This is all private, so I'm surprised it's taken almost 2 months to even get an indication of when results would be available.

I was wondering whether other cancer survivors have faced similar delays? I'm guessing that the nuclear medicine docs are busy with actually sick cancer patients and Covid cases, but can't help to be impatient.

  • I'm sorry you've had to wait so long for your results. Sadly, you're not alone as many of our members have been affected by the pandemic and I'm sure some of them will share their experiences and advice with you.

Hang on in there and fingers crossed you'll hear back from your medical team soon.

    Kind regards,
