DCIS with 1-2mm of invasive

I’m struggling! I was diagnosed with DCIS March, pre-cancer, I kept this clear in my head. Started on Tamoxifen, still taking, due to Covid, lumpectomy 26/05, recovering well. Phone call with results Monday, in amongst was a1-2mm area of invasive. This has put my head in total turmoil. I now have to wait 6 weeks! For a further op to remove lymph nodes, this wasn’t done originally as scans etc all looked normal, apparently not urgent! My head is all over the place, I can’t eat, I can’t sleep. Trying to focus on the positives, all removed with clear margins but I’m so scared!

  • I'm glad your recovery from the lumpectomy is going well Whitmic4 although I'm sorry about the news you were given on Monday.

I'm sure some of our members who have been in this position will pop by soon to offer their support and advice but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses then you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're thinking of you Whitmic and hope all goes well in 6 weeks time.

    Kind regards,
