Lumpectomy and axillary lymph nodes removal

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removal two weeks ago. I had drainage for a week and I am now waiting for results. It is now 2 weeks after the surgery and I have hard tissues in armpit and in the breast where the lump was removed. I am worried about these hard tissues. Any experience and advice would be welcome.....x

  • Hi Dani

Well a lot has happened since my last post on here. Half way through chemo I had a CT scan and unfortunately the cancer had spread to my spine and hip. Chemo was stopped immediately and I'm now on palbociclib, letrozole and bone injections. So far so good I've had no major side effects from these treatments.

Take care and stay strong xx

  • Hi Jools,

Did you have any symptoms when the cancer spread to your spine? Were your CT and bone scan before your surgery clear ?

I didn’t have any scans after chemo and I am worried.

  • Hi there Dani, my CT scan and bone scan after surgery and before chemo were clear apart from 2 small nodules on the lungs which are being monitored, could be nothing. So the spine and hip didn't show up until the next CT scan, oncologist said the cancer cells could have already been at the sites before chemo started. But I'm feeling positive about the medication I'm on, lots of positive stories around. Try not to worry about things that may never happen, I know that's easier said than done. You could ask for a CT scan to put your mind at rest. Take care
