Wind!

Hi. I've had 5 lots of chemo out of a proposed 12. All is going well. Pet scan (after 4 chemos) showed tumour practically gone! Hooray! Side effects have been largely as expected nothing too intolerable.

My main problem is flatus. I am passing wind all day and night about every 5 minutes. Also, my abdomen is a little distended and I continuously feel bloated. I have had a tendency to constipation despite high fibre diet and good hydration but even after a good bowel movement the flatus remains. This only started after my 5th chemo but its still going on 9 days later.

I know its not an end of the world type problem, but its getting on my wick and my wife is threatening to send me to sleep in the dog kennel! But seriously, if anyone has had this experience and can suggest something to help - my wife, myself and my dog would be delighted to hear from you.️

  • Hi Deanozika and welcome to the forum.

I'm really glad your treatment is going so well although I'm sorry about the flatus problem you're having at the moment. It sounds very frustrating.
