Hi, my dad starts chemo 1st June.. I've done a care package from hits I've read online but wondered if anyone whose been through it has anything else that they swear by for recovery to help afterwards xx For my pops and his wife supporting him too x
My boss went through Chemo and we did a care package from a company that made things specifically for people going through it because they themselves had experienced chemo.
There is a fantastic website called 'Not Another Bunch of Flowers' that won me over because i knew even from the name of the site that this would be perfect for her.
OH just finished 4 rounds of chemo/immunotherapy and about to go onto maintenance immunotherapy only
Best thing we did was buy a diary - we got a week over two pages
An old fashioned write in everyday, and it's a great record of day to day side effects, temperature (get a thermometer), sleep pattern /bowel patterns etc
Also useful when consultation coming up as easy to go thru and see what issues happened incase he forgets
Means if he's having a particular bad day, I can look back and say "this is the same as last time, but you should be fine by Monday". You really can see the patterns emerging
