Stage 4 renal cell carcinoma

Good afternoon lovelies,

I'm after some advice regarding stage 4 renal cell carcinoma please - my dad was diagnosed December 2019 and started on sunitinib. He suffered quite badly with side effects but kept needing to have the dosage lowered, unfortunately the cancer in the kidney has increased in size despite taking 6 rounds of target therapy.
Last weekend he was asked to go into hospital to have fluid drained from his chest which the consultant picked up on his review ct scan, apparently another side effect of sunitinib, whilst in hospital a respiratory doctor adviced they would only drain once as it's his body giving out and advised DNR.

Today he's seen the consultant who's said my dads physical condition is too poor to commence second line treatment, and has given him 3 weeks on steroids to try and put on some weight and improve his frailty - he's only 57.

They live 200 miles away and given the currently situational I'm unable to help.

Hes tried shakes from nurses etc and refuses to drink them, he's hardly eating due to nausea, mouth ulcer, painful teeth and loss of taste.
What can we do to help him eat? He's managing to drink nesquik with full fat milk so I've suggested adding some cream maybe but I feel so powerless.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Flower :) x
