Endometrial cancer

I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer last November  and was due to have my hysterectomy this January. I ended up in ICU for 3 weeks over Xmas/new year with pneumonia and respiratory failure and at one point my family were told I wouldn't survive but here I am. My surgeon put off the op for a few months and then Covid 19 happened . I'm sure there must be loads of people like me waiting for their op and not knowing when it will be . Also worrying that the cancer will get worse or spread .

  • Hi KB65 and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm so sorry for what you've been through since your diagnosis. I can't even begin to imagine how scary it must have been in ICU but I'm really glad you pulled through and are here with us today.

No doubt it must be rather frustrating and disappointing not to be able to have your hysterectomy at the moment but you're not alone as many of our members have also been affected by the pandemic so will understand how you're feeling and will pop by soon to offer their support and advice.

If you'd like to join in on other discussions about your diagnosis just use the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

Our cancer nurses are available for a chat on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m as well.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
