Anastrazole and Hair Loss

So far so good, 5 days on Anastrazole and no side effects so far, although I suspect it is building up in my system. Sleeping quite well which helps. 2 weeks until I start Radiotherapy. Hair loss is frustrating, 6 weeks since my last chemo and just a light fuzz on my head. I am realising that hair takes a long while to grow back. I will feel like myself with some hair rather than a cancer patient with this bald head. I am taking Biotin for hair although i suspect it doesn't do a lot for hair growth, but makes me feel better. Staying safe, as my partner is doing all the shopping and I just stay at home and in the garden. Thinking of buying a fitness hula hoop and a skipping rope, as I spent a lot of time being inactive over the last 6 months recovering. Will have a walk today and do some gardening.

Thinking of you all who are feeling rubbish with cancer treatment, it will pass!

  • I'm glad you're adjusting well to the Anastrazole Silver. Fingers crossed you experience no side effects but if you do and they become unmanageable at any point do be sure to let your doctor know.

Your keep fit ideas sound like a great idea. As you haven't been overly active for a while do take it easy to begin with but I'm sure you'll be skipping and hula-hooping all over the place in no time ;)

Wishing you all the best with your radiotherapy in 2 weeks time.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello Silver,

glad you are getting there. You have had a tough time but your spirit shines through I notice.

Hope the radiotherapy goes well. I found the travelling each day more of a bind than the treatment really. Hope it goes as well for you

My oncologist really rates exercise and he told me it will help protect against a recurrence as much as hormonal treatment. So I am walking regularly and on the rowing machine most days. In happier days I swim 4x a week  but obviously that’s off the agenda right now.

We are getting a dog!! I think that’s your plan when treatment is done with?! Really excited about it actually. I want an English Bulldog but it’s not proving that easy to find one!!

Stay safe and well. Life is so precious as everyone on here knows only too well.
