Ha ha, yeah, I'm brutally honest and tell it like it is!!! I will say if you end up with a drain, TAKE THE DRUGS, or you will not sleep! I had to wipe with my left hand while the drain was in, because it was so painful!!! Had it removed yesterday and pain is almost gone. Having my dressings removed by the hospital at home team on Sunday. Yeah, I'm now waiting for a CT scan, and the results will dictate my chemo cocktail. 4-5 months of that to go, followed by radio 2 therapy as my son calls it!
Hi Kelly,
I went to hospital with a device to help me to wipe, as I thought that this might be difficult with a drain in both sides and a double mastectomy. I never needed the device and was able to keep clean from day one. As you have probably seen above Sarah has kindly spoken to the technical experts and, I am still waiting for access to Private Messaging, so haven't forgotten about you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx.
Hi Sarah,
I forgot to mention that I cannot use the search facility on the site either. I also couldn't post anything on the forum earlier today, but can do this now.
Kind regards,
Jolamine
Bless you jolamine ,
Thanks for that info I've been spending my time ordering stuff on Amazon 2 large v pillows and radiation side affects so I know to keep my mouth care up and special creams for the skin I like being prepared so looking at aids to help with dressing everything and anything as the part when I can't do something us the part I'll get upset so I'm trying to prepare x it's the waiting now that's difficult as I feel healthy other then the lump so I'm sorting the house putting stuff in the kitchen at a hight I don't have to reach I love being prepared lol xxx
Radio 2 therapy lol I love radio 2 x I was thinking of how to prepare so I'm organising my kitchen so I don't have to reach also ordered pillows x
Do you feel sick as I worry about that as I hate being sick also have you lost weight ? Iv started an insta story mainly for myself to keep a record of every step x
I haven't lost weight, but I don't have an appetite. I'm a taurean and we love our food, so Deffo something wrong there! I felt sick after waking up second time round, because of the drain. Feel even worse after my results call yesterday, knowing I'm going to need chemo and possibly have secondaries. I'll get over it, but it's the shock factor. Got a serious project now though. This coronavirus biz means I'm in isolation. Poor hubby is on the dining room floor on a sub rate mattress. Now we know I'll be having chemo, I can work on converting our spare room into a bedroom for me and he can move back upstairs. Ahh, it will be me, the dog and my Unicorns. Xx
Hi Jolamine,
Thanks for letting us know. I am sorry about the inconvenience caused! I have passed this on to Sarah who will look into this and liaise with the technical team.
We truly value your contributions on Cancer Chat - I am sorry to hear this has impacted your ability to post on the forum.
I hope this gets sorted soon for you!
Best wishes,
Lucie
Hi Lucie,
Many thanks for this. I hope that your technical team can come up with some answers.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Kelly,
It sounds as if you have been keeping yourself busy. The most useful things I found after my bilateral mastectomy were nightdresses/pj's that opened at the front, a small heart shaped cushion and blouses and cardigans instead of tops/t shirts. You won't want to be pulling clothes over your head for a while.
You're doing really well when you've already sorted your kitchen to have everything at an ideal height.
I'm with you. I like to be prepared too.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Tul,
I am so sorry to hear about the outcome of your results call yesterday. Are you going to have more tests to see if there are any secondaries? I sincerely hope that there are none. However, whatever the outcome, I'm sure that you'll cope. It's amazing what we can do with our backs against the wall!
Do please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
