Hi Positive Polly,
Your name says it all! Having a positive attitude in dealing with this makes all the difference.
I know that this is not the diagnosis you want, but you can and WILL cope with this and, come out a stronger person. Have you discussed where you go from here treatment wise?
I was in a complete state emotionally when I was first diagnosed, as I had lost my Mum to secondary breast cancer 10 years previously. It is coming up to 11 years since I got the news. I had a second bout in the same breast a year after my first, but I am still here and living a productive life.
I wish you all the very best with your ongoing treatment. Remember that we are always here for you. Do please keep in touch and let us know how you're getting on.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Jolamine what a beautiful name x
Thankyou my lovely your message has almost boosted me as I sit in my house alone. I'm very pragmatic and positive it's a common cancer and survivable part of my brain says ... Oh yes but I bet I have it in my bowel aswell or I bet it's me that it kills ..but I snap myself away from that nasty *** voice and I come on here and read messages and learn the truth about what to acspect the reduction info is hugely ( parden the joke ) helpfully as I'm a 42gg overweight but always have had massive bazookas so thankyou for that info as I now have something to ask I will probably need you as I have no one really I do have three amazing friends but they have their own stuff going on ..no family as I was a care kid but I have 2 lovely grown boys but in this situation have had to isolate away from me so it's ***** humour us a good coping mechanism for me . I'm so glad your doing well jeez you have been through it haven't you x tough women I respect that xxx sorry if I have waffled or spelling mistakes I've already forgotten what your message said so going to reread it ..my brain is just moosh at mo x
Hi Ke;;y,
I'm so glad to hear that you are very pragmatic and positive. We all have that nasty little imp on our shoulders implying all sorts of nasties. The best you can do is to shrug these off your shoulders and continue with more positive thoughts.
I was a 44C when I had my bilateral mastectomy. I wasn't a suitable candidate for reconstruction, but I manage well with a selection of prostheses. I actually find the reduction in weight quite a relief if I'm honest. If you have any questions to ask, write them down, so that you don't forget anything important.
The isolation of the current pandemic makes coping with this sort of diagnosis even more difficult than usual, but you will get through it. As I said before, we are always here for you.
Kind regards,

Hi Kelly,
I have been having problems with the private messages on this site for the past 6 weeks or so. Every time I click to answer a request the screen just goes blank, the timer turns and then it sticks. This has been reported to the moderators, so I am hoping that it will be up and running soon.
I am more than happy to accept your friend request, but we may need to wait until this facility is fixed. I shall let you know as soon as it's up and running again.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hello Jolamine i'm sorry to hear you've been having these problems. I do know you mentioned it when we were having the issues with the Ajax error message which was fixed last week. I did assume this was all part of the same problem as we haven't had any other complaints or emails about issues on the site. I will talk to our techncial team now as we thought everything was working again. As i'm sure you appreciate, we can't actually see your private messaging, as by its very nature it is private to you and because nobody else has told us they are having issues it may take a while to work out what is actually happening if it is just happening to you.
I will get back to you by email as soon as I can and in the meantime I can only apologise for the inconvenience caused
With best wishes

Hi Sarah,
This is my third attempt to reply to you. I can write a sentence, but no more and then the site seems to freeze. It won't even post the sentence.
Thank you for letting me know that the private messaging is still not fixed. Another area that is still playing up is when it comes to editing posts. When I click on edit it takes me to a blank page with the timer whirring around, but I cannot add anything to the page or post it.
I only hope that I can post this to you this time!
Many thanks for your help.

Thank you Jolamine this is all very odd as we aren't hearing that anyone else is having these problems. I have been talking to our technical experts who aren't having these issues either so it is taking a bit of time but I'm hoping they can suggest how you can improve things as it doesn't appear that we have an issue with the site. We will get back to you as soon as we can
That's great Sarah,
Many thanks for your help.

Hi Sarah,
I forgot to mention that I cannot use the search facility on the site either. I also couldn't post anything on the forum earlier today, but can do this now.
Kind regards,

Hi Jolamine,
Thanks for letting us know. I am sorry about the inconvenience caused! I have passed this on to Sarah who will look into this and liaise with the technical team.
We truly value your contributions on Cancer Chat - I am sorry to hear this has impacted your ability to post on the forum.
I hope this gets sorted soon for you!
Best wishes,
Lucie
Hi Lucie,
Many thanks for this. I hope that your technical team can come up with some answers.

Hi Kelly,
It sounds as if you have been keeping yourself busy. The most useful things I found after my bilateral mastectomy were nightdresses/pj's that opened at the front, a small heart shaped cushion and blouses and cardigans instead of tops/t shirts. You won't want to be pulling clothes over your head for a while.
You're doing really well when you've already sorted your kitchen to have everything at an ideal height.
I'm with you. I like to be prepared too.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
